Renault Arkana
The Arkana is Renault’s answer to cars like the Peugeot 408 and Citroen C5 X. Offering sleek coupe styling in a practical SUV package, it’s a fantastic choice for families that want something a little sleeker than a traditional crossover.
With prices currently starting at less than £250 per month, it’s easy to see the appeal. It’s larger than the Captur, giving rear passengers that extra bit of leg room. If you want a small crossover with futuristic looks, the Toyota C-HR should be on your shortlist. The fact it’s currently available for around £200 per month just adds to its appeal. It’s a really well specced car too, with all models getting dual-zone air conditioning, a reverse camera, an 8in infotainment system and LED daytime running lights.
The C-HR makes use of impressive hybrid drivetrains including a plug-in hybrid. The best value though, comes from the self-charging options that use either a 1.8-litre or 2.0-litre petrol engine. You can expect both units to provide economy over 50mpg, with the 140hp 1.8-litre unit achieving closer to 60mpg in the real world.
Peugeot 308
The 308 has to be one of the best-looking hatchbacks on the market. Featuring Peuoget’s trademark claw-like headlight and tail lights, a large diamond-like grille and a flowing design, few competitors come close when it comes to outright style.
Inside, you’ll find Peugeot’s distinctive i-Cockpit layout, with a sporty small steering wheel. It’s an unusual set-up, but you soon get used to it. The E-308 is currently available for less than £200 per month, putting it firmly among the top trending vehicles in its segment for the month of September.
Polestar 2
The Polestar 2 has been around for a few years now and, despite it no longer being the new kid on the block as far as the Polestar brand is concerned, it remains its most popular model. The best bit is this Tesla-rivalling EV can now be had for under £300 per month, making it one of September’s top trending lease cars on Leasing.com.
It’s also worth noting that if you’re big on sustainability, few can match the Polestar. Aside from its EV credentials, it’s produced using 100% solar energy, while an impressive 85% of its components come from recycled material and can be reused again in the future.
