Hyundai Tucson 2024 | Trim levels compared

Back to 'Expert guides'

The Hyundai Tucson remains a firm favourite among leasing customers in 2024. Following a mid-life refresh earlier this year, it remains one of the most well-rounded and accomplished family SUVs available.

But if you’re in the market for one, which Tucson trim level should you go for? After deciding on the make and model itself, it’s probably the key consideration that can dramatically affect the amount you pay every month.

To help you out, we’ve put together a quick-fire guide to help you decide which trim level is for you.

What’s the best Hyundai Tucson trim level?

That’s a rather subjective question, as in a lot of circumstances the trim best suited to you will come down to how much you want to spend, as well as your own requirements when it comes to optional extras.

In 2024, the Tucson is available in a range of trim levels:

  • Advance
  • N Line
  • N Line S
  • Premium
  • Ultimate

Hyundai Tucson Advance

Hyundai Tucson Advance

Despite being the entry into the range, the Advance really doesn’t give off entry-level vibes. You get an impressive standard equipment list, including the dual 12-3in display that comes as standard across the range.

It’s an impressive system that sets the Tucson apart from many rivals. It is also compatible with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Other standard equipment on the Advance includes 17in alloys, keyless entry, parking sensors, a wireless phone charging pad a reversing camera. The engine line-up is a little reduced compared to other trims though, with the 1.6-litre petrol unit available with a six-speed manual.

That said, you can have the same engine in mild-hybrid guise and an automatic gearbox, and the more potent self-charging model is also available.

Hyundai Tucson N Line

Tucson N Line

You can consider N Line Hyundai’s answer to Mercedes’ AMG Line and Audi’s S-Line: it adds a sporty flavour without affecting the overall price and running costs with performance engines.

As such the N Line gets a beefier and more aggressive looking body kit than other models in the line up, along with N Line-specific 19in alloy wheels, front sports seats and sportier interior trim. The N Line also has the option to add a two-tone roof colour if you wish.

It’s also offered with a pair of plug-in hybrid options, in addition to the powertrains available on the Advance. They both offer more than 250hp, and can be specified with a four-wheel drive system. The system should give you around 30 miles of electric-only range; perfect for commuting.

Hyundai Tucson N Line S

If you like the sound of the N Line, but want to add a raft of impressive tech, the N Line S might be for you. As well as that sporty body kit and large 19in alloy wheels, you’ll get three-zone climate control, an opening panoramic sunroof, adaptive cruise control, heated steering wheel and an electric tailgate.

There’s also a surround view monitor in addition to the reverse camera. The engine line-up mirrors that of the standard N Line, with a wide range of petrol, hybrid and plug-in models all on offer.  The two-tone roof option remains available.

Hyundai Tucson Premium

Hyundai Tucson Premium

Premium does what it says on the tin. It offers a similar level of equipment and prestige as N Line, but approaches things in a less sport-focused way. For example, you get 18in alloy wheels instead of 19in for comfort, while heated front seats and a heated steering wheel come as standard too.

A premium KRELL sound system is also present, while the upholstery is half-leather rather than Alcantara-style trim in the N Line models. LED automatic headlights are also present, and the doors mirrors are electrically folding. A two-tone roof option can also be specified with the Premium trim.

Hyundai Tucson Ultimate

Tucson Ultimate exterior

At the top of the range is the aptly named Ultimate. An electric panoramic sunroof, head-up display and leather interior are all present. The front seats are not only heated, but ventilated too. On the outside it’s marked out by LED Matrix headlights.

In the rear, passengers not only get their own climate control, but heated seats too. A raft of additional safety kit is included, including reverse assist that helps you backing out of tight spaces and alerting you to any moving objects.
