The Volvo XC60 may have 'Thor's hammer-style headlights', according to the Swedish brand, but the premium 4x4 SUV is otherwise nothing like the overdressed action hero, with a design that is pleasingly understated and a driving experience that is comfortable and relaxing. The interior, like all Volvo's continues the minimalist theme, with a central touchscreen making the need for cluttering button designs a thing of the past. More expensive versions get supremely comfortable memory electric seats that only have to be set up once. The back seats as very comfy as well – there’s enough space for three adults who can all enjoy decent shoulder room.
A good range of engines complement a cosseting drive, and optional air suspension makes things even better.
