Set to arrive early next year, here’s what you need to know.
Volkswagen T-Roc fast facts
- Fresh look incorporates full-width lighting bar up front
- Gains tech from the latest Golf
- Digital driver display is now standard on all models
- Petrol engine line-up goes unchanged
Volkswagen T-Roc styling
The T-Roc has gained a subtle but thorough facelift, with a set of new headlights up front. The most obvious change here is the full-width lighting bar which is part of the IQ LED Matrix set-up.
Elsewhere, you’ll find some refreshed alloy wheels options are on the cards, while at the rear the tail lights are more angular than before. You can also opt for pulsating dynamic LED indicators if you want, too.
The headlights themselves are sharper too, while the daytime running lights have been incorporated into the side vents lower down the front bumper on the sporty R model – a nice touch that mirrors other models in the R range.
Talking of the R model, it’ll get 18in alloy wheels, aluminium trim, a body kit and four tail pipes as standard.
Volkswagen T-Roc interior and tech
The interior gains many features we’ve seen in the latest Golf – no surprise considering this car sits on a very similar platform. That means there’s a new steering wheel and, most significantly, a vivid digital driver display is now standard across the range.
Touch-sensitive buttons are now used for the air conditioning and climate control, while the dashboard features more soft-touch materials than before. The door trims have been updated too thanks to the use of new fabrics.
The infotainment system can be had in three guises: 6.5in, 8in or 9.2in. UK specs are to be confirmed, but the size of the infotainment screen will depend on the trim level you go for.
Opting for the R will naturally add a sportier feel to the interior – you’ll get an R-specific graphics in the driver display, a flat-bottomed sports steering wheel and stainless steel trim pieces among other extras.
There’s some new driver assistance and safety tech on offer too, with adaptive cruise control now able to control acceleration, braking and lane changing on motorways.
Volkswagen T-Roc engines
Engine-wise, changes aren’t as dramatic. First up, the T-Roc is available conjunction with a host of petrol and diesel engines. There are several options to choose from with 1.0-litre, 1.5-litre and 2.0-litre units on offer.
Entry-level 1.0-litre models produce 110hp, while the 1.5-litre ups this to 150hp. The range-topping R gets a turbo 2.0-litre unit and all-wheel drive system, and can get from 0-62mph in under five seconds.
The diesels are both 2.0-litre units and produce 113hp and 150hp respectively. The latter can be had with all-wheel drive.
