Renault Symbioz: Everything you need to know
Say hello to the all-new Renault Symbioz – Renault’s car to take on models like the Nissan Qashqai and Peugeot 3008.
With sharp looks, a brand-new infotainment system and hybrid powertrain, it’ll launch in the UK later this year. Here’s what we know so far.
Renault Symbioz fast facts
- Compact SUV sits above Captur in the range
- Sharp looks ushers in new styling cues
- Impressive passenger and boot space
- Borrows hybrid tech from other Renault models
- Aimed at taking on the Nissan Qashqai
Renault Symbioz styling
The Symbioz gets a sharp new look we’ve not seen on other models, although it does take some of its cues from the latest Captur, which sits below it in the line-up. Up front, there’s a stunning new grille that incorporates Renault’s latest insignia.
The daytime running lights also have an interesting design, and help give the Renault a really premium look from up front. To the side, the sharply tapered windows to the rear help give it a more pleasing look than some other SUVs – again, it helps give it a more sophisticated air.
All models feature at least 19in alloy wheels too, with a range of interesting new designs on offer depending on the trim level.
Renault Symbioz interior and tech
The most notable feature inside is the 10.4in touchscreen infotainment system, which uses Google as its operating system. This means you get access to Google Maps and Google’s voice assist without the need to connect it to your phone (which you can of course do via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay).
The rest of the interior is similar to that of the Capturs, albeit much more roomy. This is particularly true in the boot, with 624 litres of capacity ensuring it comes in at the top end of its class when it comes to cargo space.
Renault Symbioz powertrains
From launch, a single E-Tech hybrid petrol powertrain will be offered. Producing 145hp, it’s an advanced hybrid system that means that from a stand still, it’ll always use electric power. This makes driving at lower speeds particularly refined.
Exact specs are to be confirmed, but we know it uses a 1.6-litre petrol engine and should offer in excess of 50mpg in real-world conditions.
Renault Symbioz lease deals
UK specs and list prices are to be confirmed, but we should know more in the coming months. We expect order books to open relatively soon, and we’ll bring you the very best lease deals as and when they’re available.
In the meantime, you can check out and compare lease deals on the current Renault line-up here.
