Porsche Macan EV styling
The New Macan is decidedly different from its predecessor, ushering in styling cues that we’ve seen on the Taycan. This not only brings the model bang up to date from a styling perspective, but also ensures it marks itself out as part of Porsche’s electric line-up.
Where once was a large grille, the bumper is now flush, while the intakes within the bumper have been beefed up. The biggest change up front are those angular set of headlights that featuring four elements – much like the Taycan.
At the back, more Taycan influence is evident, with a similar full-width light bar that’s flanked by two intakes. Side on, changes aren’t so dramatic – this is still a Macan, and its silhouette ensures you can’t mistake it for anything else.
Porsche Macan EV interior and tech
Inside, changes aren’t as dramatic, but it does get the same dashboard we’ve seen in other new Porsches of late. That means there’s a great mixture of tactile physical controls as well as a raft of cutting-edge touchscreens and displays.
All cars feature a beautiful wraparound 13in digital driver display along with an 11in infotainment touchscreen. The options list also features a third screen for the front passenger and a fantastic augmented reality head-up display system.
The centre console has also changed, and now features designed climate controls. The large gear selector has also been ditched for a button-style set-up.
Porsche Macan EV drivetrains
Being the first electric Macan, Porsche had to make sure it arrived with a bang – and a look at the power stats ensures it’ll make the headlines. Even basic single-motor models get 408hp – that’s a significant boost compared with the outgoing Macan S model.
Elsewhere you’ll find a Macan Turbo model producing 640hp – again that’s significantly more than the outgoing GTS. This model can get from 0 to 62mph in just 3.3 seconds – that’s enough to put it toe-for-toe with the Model Y.
Whichever you plump for you’ll get a 95kWh battery, with base models getting 381 miles of range. The Macan Turbo drops this figure down to 367, although that’s still more than the equivalent Taycan and significantly up on other German rivals too.
Porsche Macan release date
