Peugeot E-5008 styling
The E-5008 borrows its basic looks from the E-3008 – the smaller, more compact five-seat electric car. Up front that means you get an angular set of headlights that incorporate Peugeot’s hallmark claw design. The grille is wide, and offers a cool symmetrical pattern that stands out from other manufacturers.
Round the side, things are more reminiscent of the standard 5008, with the larger car offering a longer, more squared-off rear end than the equivalent 3008. It gets a range of new alloy wheel options that are available in 19in and 20in form.
At the back, the claw-like lighting signature is again obvious in the taillights, which moulds neatly into a piece of trim spanning the tailgate.
Peugeot E-5008 interior and tech
Inside, the cabin is dominated by a huge 21in touchscreen that makes up the driver’s display and infotainment screen. Part of Peugeot’s latest i-Cockpit system, it’s the same unit you’ll find in the E-3008 and utilises a small steering wheel and a separate haptic touchscreen to the right to operate the key controls.
The E-5008 is designed to be a practical car, and is one of the few EVs available in seven-seat form. As you’d expect, it’s a cavernous cabin and, with the rear-most seats folded down, a capacious boot too; you get 748 litres of space.
Peugeot E-5008 motors and drivetrains
From launch, you’ll be able to choose between three models. There’s a 73kWh battery option, that comes with a 210hp motor. This is capable of up to 310 miles of range. This battery can also be had with an extra motor, which ups power to 320hp while range remains unchanged.
The most impressive model is arguably the one that comes kitted out with the larger 98kWh battery. This model gets an official range of 410 miles – that’s more than key competitors and puts it amongst the most impressive EVs for range as well as space.
