Peugeot 2008: Crossover updated for 2023
Peugeot has given its 2008 crossover a makeover, with tweaked styling, new interior tech and an increase in range for the electric variant.
Here’s everything you need to know about the updated model.
Peugeot 2008 styling
The 2008 benefits from a comprehensive external update, which brings it right up to date with the rest of the Peugeot range. It’s clear the restyled front end has been influenced by the larger 3008 SUV, as well as the 408 fastback.
The overall bodyshape hasn’t changed, but the front and rear light designs have been changed, while Peugeot’s latest insignia now features on the front grille and tail gate. There’s also some fresh colours to choose from, while new alloy wheels are available as either 16in, 17, or 18in depending on trim level.
Peugeot 2008 interior and tech
The 2008 retains many of its existing features on the inside, including the i-Cockpit layout Peugeot has used for a few years. That means you get a small steering wheel that appears to come out from under the dashboard rather than from inside it.
The vivid digital driver display has been improved further and now measures 10in in diameter; that makes it the same size as the infotainment screen, which has also benefited from an update. Voice control has been improved, and it’s compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Peugeot 2008 drivetrains
From launch, the revised 2008 will use the tried-and-trusted 1.2-litre petrol engine, It’s available with either 100hp or 130hp and a six-speed gearbox. You can choose an automatic eight-speed unit if you opt for the more potent variant.
The biggest news comes from the e-2008 electric variant, which now features a 54kWh battery. This larger unit now means the e-2008 gets a range of 252 miles – a big improvement over the outgoing model. It’s also a little more powerful than before too, with 160hp on offer.
It’s also been confirmed that from next year, a new hybrid version will be added to the line-up. It’ll utilise the 1.2-litre engine and combine it with a small electric motor to provide power at lower speeds.
