The Paris Motor Show is now just around the corner, and officially kicks off on 14 October. Historically, it’s one of the most significant automotive events on the calendar.

While motor shows have been quieter than they used to be, with this year marking 90 years of the Paris Show, it’s set to be quite a special one – certainly when it comes to new French models and Chinese manufacturers hoping to break into the European market.

Here’s a rundown of who will be there and what we know about the products they’ll have on show.

Alpine

Alpine A390

Hot on the heels of the A290 based on the upcoming 5 supermini, Alpine will be revealed another all-new model that’s been in the works – the A390. With a 600hp electric platform, it’ll feature a dual-motor set-up.

We’ve only been treated to a darkened silhouette at the moment, but we expect this model to be a low-slung SUV coupe, and will take on cars like the Lotus Eletre when it eventually arrives on the market.

BYD

BYD has been on a roll this year, successfully launching a plethora of models relatively quickly. And they’re proving popular. This trend is set to continue, with the Chinese brand set to reveal yet another new model – yet unnamed – to make up part of its growing line-up.

Citroen

Citroen C3 Aircross

On its home territory, Citroen is set to make a splash and promises four new vehicles will be revealed. These are to be confirmed, but the most significant is likely to be a refreshed C4. There’s not been any teasers, but the C4 and C4 X will appear with “a new stature, adopting a simpler, more coherent design that reflects the brand’s new identity.”

Dacia

Dacia Bigster concept

Dacia will be unveiling its largest model to date – the Bigster. Aiming to offer rugged looks and practicality at an affordable price, it’ll be based on the 2021 concept car you see above.

In reality, however, it’ll sit on an extended version of the Duster’s platform, meaning it’ll likely get the same engine options too.

DS Automobiles

Citroen SM concept

It’s not yet confirmed, but highly likely we’ll see DS Automobiles showcase the stunning SM tribute. Taking inspiration directly from the iconic Maserati-powered SM of the 1970s, this electric concept hints at the future design language the brand is looking towards.

And that direction seems to take inspiration from DS (technically sister brand Citroen’s past) – a strategy the company hasn’t employed to date.

Mini

mini jcw

Mini is likely to debut its hot JCW Golf GTI rival in Paris. Both electric and petrol variants will be offered, just like the more pedestrian Mini Hatch range.

Renault

 Renault 4 L 2024

The eagerly anticipated Renault 4 will be unveiled in full at the Paris show. Taking its lines from the iconic Renault 4 (the most produced French car of all-time), its throwback appeal matches that of the 5 hatchback that was revealed in full last year.

Renault will also have some other reborn icons on show, including the R17 Restomod coupe and the funky Estafette commercial. The brand is really on a roll, and we can’t wait to see what the 4 will look like.

Skoda

 2024_ElroqSketchFront

The Skoda Elroq is the latest EV from the Czech brand, and borrows the platform from Volkswagen’s ID.4. We’ve had a sneak peak at this new model in the form of teaser pics, and we know it’ll likely be offered in single and dual-motor form and have a range of up to 348 miles.
