Nissan Leaf gets a refresh for 2022
The Nissan Leaf has been updated for 2022, with the new model getting a host of external tweaks to keep it fresh in the face of electric competitors.
Here’s everything you need to know ahead of order books opening in March.
Nissan Leaf styling
On the face of it, not much has changed. But a closer look at the spec reveals two new colours are now available – Pearl Blue and Magnetic Blue. A host of new dual-colour options have also been made available.
There’s also a fresh set of 16 and 17in alloy wheels that give the model a fresher look. Nissan has also included its updated badge, which now features on all its latest models including the new Qashqai and upcoming Ariya.
Nissan Leaf interior and tech
The interior and tech on offer remains unchanged. All Leafs are available with Nissan’s latest ProPilot system, which adds adaptive cruise control and traffic jam assist to take the train out of driving.
The NissanConnect infotainment system is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and also offers drivers the functionality of adjusting features such as climate control from NissanConnect’s Services smartphone app (depending on trim level).
The e-Pedal remains a notable feature, which controls the car’s speed and braking without necessarily having to touch the brakes.
Nissan Leaf drivetrains
The drivetrain and batteries remain unchanged, with 39kWh and 59kWh packs remaining on offer. They are capable of up to 168 miles and 239 miles respectively, and support fast charging.
Although the Nissan Leaf isn’t the newest EV on the block, it remains one of the most popular, and the external update intends to keep it fresh in the face of competition.
