Munich Motor Show: What cars are coming and when can you lease them?
The Munich Motor Show (aka the Munich IAA Mobility Show) kicks off on September 6th, and being the first major new car event since the pandemic, you can expect it to be a big one.
So what’ll be on show? Below, we’ve pulled together a range of cars that are production-ready and will shortly be available to lease. In fact, you can order one or two of them already.
Here’s what to expect to be on show in Munich, along with when you can expect leasing deals to arrive.
Audi RS3: August 2021
The all-new RS3 will no doubt be on the Audi stand in Munich. It’s been comprehensively updated for 2022 and will be available in both hatch and saloon form.
Highlights include a new torque splitter system for improving traction, a new RS Monitor that displays key driving stats and of course the 2.5-litre petrol five-cylinder engine – now with added torque.
It’s not available to order yet, but you can read all about the new RS3 here. We’ll bring you leasing plans as soon as they are available – likely later this month.
BMW i4 – Available now
The BMW i4 is a seriously significant car for the brand, with it hoping to take on the likes of Tesla’s Model 3 with this new all-electric model. It’ll certainly be a highlight of the Munich show, but you can actually pre-order one to lease right now.
With up to 367 miles of range and a performance i4 M50 variant on the cards, it’s likely to become one of the most popular choices for those that want an engaging sports saloon with an electric drivetrain. Here's everything you need to know, or click on the button below to find deals.

Cupra Born – Late in 2021
The Cupra Born is a sporty new EV from the Spanish brand that is based on the same platform as the Volkswagen ID.3. Featuring a cool exterior design with copper coloured trim, the EV is a break away from cars Cupra has produced to date.
With a potent 77kWh battery pack, it gets a sub-seven second 0-62mph time and a 300+ mile range. Whichever you pick, you’ll get a healthy 310Nm of torque and a sporty rear-wheel drive platform. Find out more here.
Hyundai Ioniq 5 – Available now
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is another model that’ll be at Munich that you can lease right now. Well, pre-order it at least. It gets a stunning retro look, a cabin full of impressive tech and around 300 miles of range.
The best bit? Probably the price. You can lease the Ioniq 5 for less than £400 per month – making it an affordable EV despite being one of the newest and best looking. Here's what you ned to know, or find deals by hitting the button below.

Mercedes EQE – 2022
The EQE will be Mercedes’ all-electric large saloon that’ll sit beneath the EQS. You can think of it as the electric version of the E-Class. We’ve only been given teaser pics to date, so we don’t know much about it.
That’ll change at Munich, with the EQE likely to be Mercedes’ biggest reveal. It will share its platform with other electrified Mercedes which could feature a 107kWh battery that could result in more than 450 miles of range.
We’ll find out more next month and will keep you posted with leasing plans as soon as they become available.
Porsche Macan – October
The Macan has been refreshed, and will be on show in Munich. Featuring subtle design changes, a new turbo-petrol option and a clever new interior, it remains a desirable SUV to lease.
The interior and styling has taken its cues from the latest 911, meaning that the centre console now features touch-surface controls with haptic feedback among other changes. You can find out all you need to know here.
Renault MeganE - 2022
The Megane E-Tech hybrid is available right now, but if you wait until 2022 you’ll be able to get a MeganE. Yep, Renault has completely reinvented its hatchback, which now features an all-electric drivetrain and styling borrowed from the eVision concept (pictured).
It’s been confirmed it’ll feature a 215hp electric motor and offer fast charging too. Set to take on cars like the Citroen e-C4, you can expect it to be available to order from early in 2022.
Volkswagen Taigo – 2022
The Volkswagen Taigo is yet another addition to the brand’s line-up of SUVs. Sitting on the platform of the latest Polo, it’s essentially a coupe-like version of the small T-Cross crossover.
UK specs are to be confirmed, but you can expect this to be one of the central cars on Volkswagen’s stand in Munich. You can read everything you need to know about it here. Expect leasing plans to be available early-mid 2022.
