All-new MG HS plug-in hybrid gets 32 miles of electric-only range
Say hello to the MG HS – one of two new electrified plug-in models the company is introducing to the UK market.
Fitted with a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine and an electric motor producing 90k, it’s capable of up to 32 miles on electric power and is available to order now.
Costing from £29,995, MG says it will offer lower running costs than non-electrified HS models and, with a combined output of over 250hp, more performance too.
0-62mph takes just 6.9 seconds, while the set-up uses a 10-speed automatic gearbox to ensure a smooth, comfortable drive too.
Recharging the battery will take up to three hours using a regular charger and offer up to 32 miles of electric-only range when full. This will make is appealing for businesses, who can benefit from a low BIK rate (10%).
Interior
On the inside, it’s a surprisingly roomy car with a 448-litre boot, making it more practical than not only other hybrid rivals, but petrol-powered crossovers like the Kia Sportage too.
Trims
Standard equipment is impressive too, with 18in alloy wheels, a 10in infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, dual-zone air condition, 18in alloy wheels and heated front seats.
Pricier Exclusive models add further options such as LED headlights, a panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery and a powered tailgate.
MG’s Pilot driver assistance system is standard too, meaning all HS plug-in hybrids benefit from automatic emergency brakes, blind-spot warning, adaptive cruise control and traffic jam assist.
We’ll bring you MG HS plug-in hybrid leasing deals as soon as they’re available.
