Updated MG5 EV: Further details revealed
Following its reveal at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, price and specs for the updated MG5 EV estate have been revealed.
Costing from £30,995, it gets a new exterior look, tech enhancements and a clever new charging feature. Here’s what you need to know
MG5 EV styling
On the outside, the most obvious changes are to the bumpers. Up front, it’s a smoother and sleeker design than before, promising better aerodynamics and a much more modern look. A refreshed set of LED headlights complete the revamp up front.
The rear bumpers have been updated to match too, while a host of new alloy wheel designs and contrasting black trim pieces have been added to the options list.
MG5 EV interior and trim levels
Tech levels have been enhanced across the range, with standard SE models featuring an infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, adaptive cruise control and even a reversing camera.
The mid-range choice is the Trophy. Costing from £33,495, it adds a larger 10in infotainment screen, leather-effect upholstery, automatic wipers, 17in alloy wheels and a 360-degree parking camera.
MG5 EV drivetrains
One area MG hasn’t played with is the drivetrain. We expect the updated model will feature the same electric motor and battery combination, which gives the car a range of more than 200 miles between charges.
One feature it has added, however, is a Vehicle-To-Load charger. This allows you to use the car to power and recharge other electrical devices using the batteries. This could be anything from camping equipment, e-bikes and even your laptop.
