The all-electric Mercedes G 580 revealed
Say hello to the all-new Mercedes-Benz G 580 with EQ technology. It is fully in keeping with the tradition of the model series established in 1979 and like the conventionally powered models, it is based on a ladder-frame concept, a selectable LOW RANGE off-road gear reduction system, independent front suspension, and a rigid axle at the rear.

The all-new electric G-Class retains the unmistakable traits of its longstanding family line. Its exterior boasts a bold electric aesthetic, with distinct features that distinguish it from its traditionally powered counterparts.
Notable among these are a subtly elevated bonnet, air curtains in the rear wheel-arch flares, and a distinctive design box at the rear. Paired with updated A-pillar cladding and a roof spoiler lip, these elements enhance aerodynamic performance. 
The standard features of the all-new electric G-Class include adaptive multibeam LED headlights. These headlights incorporate intelligent lighting functions, adjusting illumination based on the conditions. With 84 individually controlled high-performance LEDs, they dynamically respond to the traffic environment.
Additionally, heat-insulating dark-tinted glass is applied to the rear side windows and rear window for enhanced comfort. Silver EQ badges on the wings signify the vehicle's fully electric nature.
Mercedes-Benz G 580 Interior and Tech
The interior of the all-new electric G-Class combines impressive quality with a classic design language. The square-edged air vents and iconic passenger grab handle carry the distinctive G-Class hallmark.
In the EDITION ONE variant, trim elements boast a blue-tinted carbon fibre finish. As standard, the multifunction steering wheel of the latest generation features touch control panels and is wrapped in nappa leather. Ambient lighting and leather upholstery are also included in the standard equipment, adding to the luxurious interior ambiance. 
There is also an MBUX infotainment system which comes as standard on the G-Class, featuring a 12.3-inch driver, media display with touch controls, as well as smartphone integration via Android Auto or Apple CarPlay.
Mercedes-Benz G 580 Drivetrains
The usable capacity of the battery is 116 kWh. That gives the all-new Mercedes-Benz G 580 with EQ Technology sufficient energy for a range of up to 473km according to WLTP.
For rapid charging with direct current, the vehicle features a DC fast-charging system capable of charging at up to 200 kW. In such instances, the charging time from 10 to 80% State of Charge (SoC) is approximately 32 minutes.
Exclusive to the all-new electric G-Class are features such as G-TURN, G-STEERING, and an intelligent off-road crawl function.
Utilising the G-TURN feature, drivers can execute nearly stationary turns with the all-new electric G-Class. On unpaved or loose terrain, the vehicle can execute up to two full rotations in the desired direction.
G-STEERING enhances off-road manoeuvrability by selectively adjusting drive torque, enabling the all-new electric G-Class to pivot around the inner rear wheel. The off-road crawl function aids drivers of the all-new electric G-Class by maintaining a set speed on loose surfaces, which acts as a kind of cruise control for off-road driving.

From the launch of the all-new electric G-Class, the EDITION ONE will be available. The exclusive special edition is available in five paint finishes: Manufaktur south sea blue magno, obsidian black metallic, opalite white magno, opalite white bright and classic grey solid.
