Lotus Emeya styling

You can think of the Emeya as a slightly smaller, lower version of the Eletre SUV. It’s clearly related to the larger car, featuring the same narrow headlight design. However, its lower roofline and saloon proportions arguably make this the better-suited car to the Lotus badge.

At the rear, you’ll find a distinctive sloping tail that gives the car a distinctly coupe-like look from behind. There’s also a full-width light bar running across the rear of the car, incorporated beneath the Lotus badging and large oval indents.

Lotus Emeya interior and infotainment

Lotus is aiming to take on the Taycan with this car, and it shows. The premium-feeling cabin features the best materials that are all sourced sustainably. The dashboard and centre console is dominated by a huge infotainment touchscreen that controls most of the car’s key functions.

On either side you’ll find a thinner strip-style display, which gives the driver their digital display or allows the front passenger to see key information. Also available is an impressive 55in head-up display, which uses augmented realist. It’s a first for the brand, and the industry as a whole.

Lotus Emeya drivetrain

It’s little surprise that the Emeya features a large 102kWh battery that’s identical to the one used in the Eletre. Exact specs are to be confirmed, but it will provide more than 300 miles of range between charges, and should be slightly more impressive than the Eletre on this front.

The Emeya will be capable of up to 350kW fast charging – exactly the same as the recently updated Taycan. The dual-motor platform of the Emeya produces 905hp – enough to get the car from 060mph in just 2.8 seconds. That’s enough to worry the most ferocious of Teslas.
