Compare Dacia Spring lease deals
Styling-wise, the Spring utilises existing Dacia design cues, with elements of the Sandero and new Duster both present on this model. But it’s more compact than either of those cars; it’s designed with the city in mignd.
Height-wise, it’s more on a par with a Sandero Stepway, giving the Spring a crossover-like look when combined with those chunky side skirts and bumpers.
Dacia Spring interior and tech
Dacia has always been a cost-effective option if you’re looking to keep things as affordable as possible. As such, the interior is what could best be described as cheap and cheerful. But it’s a vast improvement when compared to Dacias produced just a few years ago.
As standard, you won’t get an infotainment screen, but if you opt for the range-topping model you’ll get an 8in touchscreen system that’s compatible with smartphone mirroring systems like Apple CarPlay.
All models get a digital driver display, but physical controls remain for the climate control, while the gear selector is quite a reach down into the centre console. Exact UK specifications and trim levels are still to be confirmed.
Dacia Spring drivetrain
Designed with urban travel in mind, it gets an electric motor producing around 50hp that’s powered by a 26.8kWh battery pack; not exactly powerful, but enough to give it a 137-mile range between charges.
While that doesn’t sound much, for those after a city runaround, it’s more than enough range. It’s also on par with much more expensive cars such as the Honda E.
Its small battery pack does mean charging isn’t exactly quick; even using a fast charger it will take around an hour to gain a full charge from 20%. For those charging at home using a 7kW box, this increases to around four hours.
