Abarth 595 range tweaked for 2021

The Abarth 595 range has been tweaked for the new year, with all four variants receiving tech enhancements and a number of new personalisation options.

Here’s what you need to know.

Abarth 595 exterior

On the outside, it’s business as usual. Taking the basis of the petrol-powered Fiat 500, the only changes on the outside include a new optional set of 17in alloy wheels inspired by 1990s Lancias along with daytime running lights – a feature that’s now standard on all versions.

Things haven’t changed too dramatically on the inside either, with the main changes being a sportier flat-bottomed steering wheel and a number of personalisation options for the Turismo and Competizione. The former gets new leather colour options, while the Competizione gets a race-inspired Alcantara dashboard.

The infotainment system across the range benefits from updated graphics, while ‘Sport’ mode has been renamed ‘Scorpio’ mode.

Abarth 595 engines

All models are powered by the same 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine. It produces between 145hp and 180hp depending on the trim level, with the more potent Competizione and Esseesse cars receiving a bigger turbo.

Other changes to these sporting models include a locking differential, uprated suspension parts and Brembo brakes. The Competizione gets a sports exhaust too.

The basic models feature a five-speed manual gearbox, although a paddle-shift automatic option is available across the range.

Abarth 595 release date

The refreshed Abarth 595 range will be available to order early February 2021, with prices starting from £17,760. We’ll bring you leasing rates as soon as they are available.
