You’ll be able to choose from two models: the SZ-T, which is priced at £27,499 and then the SZ5 will cost you £29,299.
Exterior
First impressions of the Swace is that it’s very Corolla(ish). However, the large grille and strong fog lamp bezels are inherited from Suzuki’s signature sporty design sets this estate apart from its sibling.
Further exterior features include integrated roof rails for simple roof carrier mounting, a sculpted rear door that is constructed of lightweight resin to enhance fuel efficiency, and sporty and sophisticated 16in alloy wheels.
The Swace is available in seven different colours:
- White Pearl Crystal Shine
- Super White
- Precious Silver
- Black Mica
- Dark Blue Mica
- Phantom Brown Metallic
- Oxide Bronze Metallic
Interior
There hasn’t been any holding back with the standard specification for the SZ-T model, this includes: seven airbags, Dual Zone automatic air conditioning, 7in LCD colour information screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto device connectivity, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, 8in centre dash touchscreen and Dynamic Radar Cruise control.
The SZ5 gets all of the above and the following: Smart Door locking, Simple-Intelligent Park Assist, Front and Rear park distance sensors, Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross traffic Alert and centre console tray with wireless charger.
Boot space is impressive too, the Swace provides a 596-litre luggage compartment whilst the rear carpeted floorboard can be placed in a lower position to store taller objects and is also reversible with a resin backside that can be used for stowing wet or dirty items.
Driving and engines
So far, only one powertrain has been confirmed: 1.8 Hybrid CVT, which combines a 97hp four-cylinder petrol engine with a 71hp electric motor via a CVT automatic transmission. The Swace gets from 0-62mph in 11.1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 111mph. However, if you’re interested in this as your next lease car, speed won’t be much of a deciding factor, the efficiency will.
The Swace features a dedicated EV mode for emissions-free driving, with the hybrid engine producing 99-115g/km of CO2 and capable of 64.2mpg on the WLTP cycle.
You have the ability to choose from three different drive modes:
- Normal mode: Provides an optimal balance between ride comfort, stability and fuel economy, and is suitable for normal driving.
- Eco mode: Helps the driver accelerate in an eco-friendly manner and enhance fuel economy through more gradual throttle response and minimal air-conditioning use. This mode is useful during stop-and-go city driving.
- Sport mode: Controls the hybrid system to provide quick and powerful acceleration, making it suitable for when agile driving response is desired, such as on winding roads.
